Cleaning the Air Without the Use of Chemicals

We may not notice this, but indoor air could be more polluted than the outside air. There are actually a lot of reasons why this is so. Sometimes we use chemicals to clean our rooms or to clean the house after ourselves. Painting, for example, could contribute to air pollution, considering the smell of paint around the house, which may have some harmful chemicals in it. Other sources of polluted air in the house could be smoking, and even just our simple breathing can cause pollutants, as our bodies emit carbon monoxide.

So, how do we clean our houses from air pollution? We can do simple and basic things for our home environment. The most basic thing to do is to open those windows to let some air out and let some fresh air in. Some houses may not want to do that because when they are using air conditioning, they don’t want it to be interrupted, but seriously, it wouldn’t hurt to air out your house, even just for once a week for a couple of hours.

Also, we need to be careful with those appliances. Make sure the appliances we are using inside the house are of good quality. For example, check your air conditioning unit from time to time. If you have a centralized air conditioning system, please do check and change its filter from time to time. Other appliances, like a refrigerator or microwave, and even a washer and dryer, need to be kept in good condition. Malfunctioning appliances can cause to release of dangerous pollutants indoors.

It would be a big help if you could get a carbon monoxide detector for your home and make sure that it’s working. It would also help if you could find a 24 hour heating and cooling near me place in your local area. If you need to clean around the house, use non-toxic chemicals. You can do organic cleaning with vinegar, baking soda. Some people would even use Coke for their toilet bowls. At all costs, try to be as natural and organic as possible, and you are sure to have healthy, clean air inside your house.
